Abstract
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the short-term stability after Haptite¢ç (Hydroxyapatite coated implant) 1-stage implant placement in the maxillary edentulous molar area. The subjects were healthy adult patients without any systemic diseases. After placing Haptite¢ç 1-stage implants in the maxillary edentulous molar area, evaluation was performed using Osstell mentor¢ç and Periotest System¢ç at buccal and lingual side, each with time period of 4 and 8 weeks. In each case, the implant stability quotient values, using osstell mentor, all showed the increasing pattern of over 70, according to time and the periotest, which also showed fine results over -3. In Haptite¢ç 1-stage implant placed in the maxillary edentulous molar area, which often has low bone quality, fine initial stability was observed and fine stability for a short-term period before prosthetic restoration was also observed. Haptite¢ç 1-stage implant may be the great method for reconstruction of maxillary edentulous molars, which have low bone quality.
